A THING OF BEAUTY IS. A JOY FOREVER.

William Shakespeare defines human life in seven stages of a drama. He defines man's third stage as " Lover" (youth) after " infant and boy". The word is self-explanatory that youth is full of love to share with any suitable recipient. It is his Keatsian love for beauty and where he sees eternal joy. He appreciates that beauty and the resultant joy more in feminity. That is a stage a man enjoys his best health and sensitivity. This energy is the asset of the mighty forces. But at the same time, the young man is restless to share his love instincts to the appropriate zones. Unfortunately, the forces stations are as dry as the Sahara desert to ventilate the tender feelings. The youth burns the thirst for expression in utmost forbearance.

But we have an Airforce unit, Airforce command hospital, an antithesis to this concept, a different atmosphere of greenery. When you put your first step forward from the guard room gate, you will start seeing the nursing angels roaming on roads. The blue all over, in dresses, vehicles, walls, and posts. But the scenario is different from a typical Airforce station. Medical training is focused more on developing skills in caring and empathy. The harsh words of commands are refined and made humane. Thus the atmosphere is somewhat romantic for a youth. The youth who come from other AF stations, feel a desire to appear attractively. You are set free from a monotony. Romance and lovemaking within the limit of discipline is not regarded as a serious offense. Some sexually jealous, frustrated cantankerous elements may create some futile disturbance. Many marriages take place between Airmen and nursing staff.

They all lead a comfortable life. We used to have visiting friends from Jalahalli, east, and west. None of them will be disappointed by their visit to us. Our billets were beside the main road leading to Nursing school. There used to be beautiful girls passing up and down in clusters from the hospital and back. Our visiting friends also befriend with the young sisters and culminate in marriage. Many have chosen abode in UK & US. We had the best Airmen mess in our time, where the menu will be with so many special items. This, they could do with the balance ration of patient mess. Therefore we were proud to take our friends to mess as guests. Thus Airforce Command hospital served not only as of the best command hospital in all three forces but also as an oasis for the youth of the forces.
